Did you know about this shortcut to Calm Mode?!

I just found out you can press the volume/temperature knob to toggle Calm Mode on and off! I didn’t even know the knob was a button!

Couldn’t find this anywhere in the manual. Has anyone else noticed this?

I’d love if pressing the knob could switch it to a different function. Like, right now, it adjusts the volume, but if you could click it and then use it to change the temperature, that’d be awesome.

Totally agree!

@TaylorFordLover
Yeah, that would be great. The current setup feels a bit basic.

I think the Mach-E has something like that, but it might only work for adjusting the heated seats or fan speed.

You can actually change the fan speed and temperature with it. If you press the fan button next to the knob, it shows the fan speed, and you can rotate the knob to adjust it. Same with the temperature.

@Clancy
Yeah, but you still have to tap the touchscreen first. I just wish there was a way to do it without looking down. The lag between pressing the screen and using the knob can be annoying, especially when you’re driving.

@Ren
Got it. So you’d like to change the default behavior for what the knob does. That would definitely make it easier to adjust things without looking.

Exactly! I just want the option to change what happens when you press the knob. Right now, pressing it toggles Calm Mode, but it would be nice if we could assign a different action to it.

Found out about it a while back.

I never would’ve thought to try that.

I wish there was a way to actually turn the screen off instead of just dimming it and displaying the clock.

On the XLT, there’s a physical button to turn the screen off completely. Press it once for Calm Mode, and press again to turn off the display, including the backlight. It’s great for night driving.

@Jesse
Which button is that?

@Jesse
I love that button. It’s so useful.

Does anyone even use Calm Mode? It’s funny how it’s supposed to be calming, but sometimes it feels like it just takes longer to show the info you actually need.

I use it for night driving, especially on the highway. Less screen brightness means fewer distractions.

I have it set up on the dashboard by default. Don’t really use it on the main screen, though.

I only use it when I’m charging and trying to take a nap. But even then, the screens are still too bright. I wish there was an option to turn them off completely while DC fast charging.

@Vale
That’s surprising! On the XLT, you can turn the screen off completely.
